EpiBurn is a bioactive tissue matrix composed of human amnion/chorion membrane. EpiBurn has multiple layers including a layer of epithelial cells, a basement membrane, and an avascular connective tissue matrix.

EpiBurn is intended for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds to enhance healing.

Growth factors present in EpiBurn:

Over 57 different growth factors, specialized cytokines, and enzyme inhibitors have been identi ed in EpiBurn.

The following are some of the most notable growth factors that help enhance healing:

  • Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) – Promotes proliferation of epithelial cells
  • Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-ß) – Anti-in ammatory and promotes normal wound healing
  • Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) – Promotes cellular proliferation and important for collagen matrix formation
  • Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) – Promotes cell proliferation in connective tissue, stimulates angiogenesis, and enhances healing

How to apply EpiBurn:

  • Cut to to fit

  • Cover to maintain a moist wound environment

Extracellular Components:

The Extracellular Matrix of amniotic membrane is composed of 3 major classes of biomolecules:

  • Structural proteins: collagen types I, III, IV, V and VII, and elastin
  • Specialized proteins: bronectin, TIMPs, and laminins
  • Proteoglycans: formed when GAGS are linked to core proteins
