The C-Ax Hybrid incorporates a unique principle in retractor design “Bone fixation with Rotation”. The C-Ax Hybrid uses multiple size frames and a midspar that are secured to the bone with distraction screws. Once the Raydel blades snap into place on the frame, the retractors are stable but the side blades can still rotate to retract or relax and thus provide the ideal amount of retraction. The bone fixation makes the frame very stable avoiding need for retractor adjustment while allowing surgery to be carried out through the frame. The surgeon can take advantage of rotating blades for more oblique angles to help during decompressive surgery. The C-Ax Hybrid can accommodate any single or double level anterior cervical plate inside the frame and allows the surgeon to use the blades to assist in inserting screws at a variety of angles.
